I know that running and walking are potentially hazardous activities which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my digital signature I certify that I am medically able to perform this run / walk, am in good health, and am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of any event organizer or guide relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules and expectations of the event and agree to abide by them.
I understand that the Farm 2 Families Giving Gallop is not a race. It takes place on an open, unmarked course that uses public roads, sidewalks, bike paths, trails and parks that remain open to vehicles, bicycles and other pedestrians. There is no official timing, course closure, traffic control, medical support, aid station or transportation provided. I am responsible for my own navigation, hydration, nutrition, clothing and safe conduct, and I agree to obey all traffic laws, signals and signs and all state and local laws while participating.
I assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including but not limited to: falls; physical contact with other participants, volunteers, organizers, spectators and members of the public; collisions with vehicles, bicycles or other obstacles; the effects of the weather, including cold temperatures, snow, ice, rain and wind; traffic and the condition of the roads, trails and surrounding terrain; and the contraction of a communicable disease resulting from contact with other participants or members of the public. I assume all such risks, being known, appreciated and accepted by me.
I understand that optional stops along the course are at independent businesses that are not sponsors of or affiliated with this event. Any food or beverages, including alcohol, that I choose to purchase or consume at those stops are at my own expense, discretion and risk. I will not participate while impaired.
I understand that handing out gift cards to members of the public is a voluntary part of this event. I agree to approach people respectfully, to accept a decline graciously, and to use good judgment about my own safety and the comfort of others while doing so.
I authorize event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf should I be unable to do so, and I accept responsibility for the cost of any such treatment.
In consideration for being permitted to participate in this event, I agree to assume all risks and to release, hold harmless, and covenant not to sue Farm 2 Families, the Giving Gallop, its organizers, guides, volunteers, representatives, families and successors, Boston Children's Hospital and its affiliates, Miles for Miracles, any designated beneficiaries, sponsors, officials, participating clubs, communities, organizations, friends of the event, the businesses at any optional stop, the Town of Arlington, the City of Cambridge, and all other government or public entities (collectively, the "Releasees") for any claim, loss or liability that I may have arising out of my participation in the event, including bodily injury, death or property damage, whether caused by the negligence or carelessness on the part of any of the Releasees or otherwise, including but not limited to dangerous or defective property or equipment owned, maintained or controlled by any of them.
I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my name, photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose, including promoting future events, without compensation.
If I am signing on behalf of a participant under 18 years of age, I confirm that I am that participant's parent or legal guardian, that I have the authority to sign this waiver on their behalf, that I have explained its contents to them, and that I agree to every term of this waiver both for myself and for the minor participant. I agree that the minor will be accompanied and supervised by me or another responsible adult for the entire event.
I have carefully read this Waiver and Release of Liability and fully understand its contents. I am aware that by agreeing to this Waiver and Release of Liability I am waiving legal rights and discharging the Releasees from any claims, losses or liabilities described herein, and knowing this, I sign it of my own free will. I understand and agree that this Waiver and Release of Liability is binding on my heirs, assigns and legal representatives, and that if any portion is held invalid, the remainder shall continue in full force and effect.
