This is an open course without markers (bring your sense of adventure and direction) or official race timing (bring your own watch) and involves running through neighborhoods, trails, roads, and sidewalks while navigating pedestrians, wild animals, bikes, cars, trucks, motorcycles, reindeer, etc. all runners must abide by state and federal laws while running. Details regarding the route is outlined below:

First Leg (5.8 Miles) - Robbins Farm to Aeronaut Brewery (OPTIONAL STOP)

The first and longest leg of the Gallops starts in beautiful Robbins Farm Park looking out over Arlington, Cambridge and Boston. We'll start at the lookout in the park, and its all downhill from there. The first mile is mostly downhill (steep at the start), with a trail section as you'll run through Menotomy Rocks Park. The trail section is not overly technical, but you will need to pay attention to roots and rocks. After Menotomy Rocks, the Gallop will head down past Spy Pond, and begin the long flat journey into Cambridge Via the Minuteman Bike Path and Mass Ave offering up lots of opportunities to give out gifts to pedestrians along the way. The leg concludes with a stop at Aeronaut to warm up and hydrate. NOTE: All Stops along the Course Are Optional and require personal financing if you are looking for hydration of any sort. These Businesses are not sponsored or affiliated with this event

Second Leg (1.8 Miles) - Aeronaut to Cambridge Brewing Co. (OPTIONAL STOP)

The second and shortest leg of the gallop takes you from somerville over to cambridge for a stop at lamplighter to rest your legs for the final push to mgh. if you are feeling strong, pressed for time, or don't feel like stopping, you can continue your gallop past lamplighter and continue down broadway, across the Longfellow Bridge, and into the finish at mgh. NOTE: In case you missed it above - All Stops along the Course Are Optional and require personal financing if you are looking for hydration of any sort. These Businesses are not sponsored or affiliated with this event

Third and Final Leg (1.3 Miles) - CBC to MGH The Final Push!!!

for those who were in need of hydration or too weak to make this a 2 leg run, your stop at CBC should have you recharged for your final leg down broadway, across the longfellow bridge, and into the finish at mgh. Nice job - You survived 8.5 miles!!!
